Any time there is a Chevrolet MyLink update available, it will automatically install when you start your vehicle. How to Update Chevy MyLink to Allow Smartphone Access 

If you’ve just purchased a used Chevrolet vehicle that has MyLink, you may need to do a minor update on the system to allow app access from your smartphone. Here’s how to do that:

• Press the phone button on the Chevrolet MyLink screen.
• Select “Pair Device.”
• Select “Chevy MyLink” from your phone’s Bluetooth menu.
• Your phone will display a message with a PIN number — enter this number into the vehicle’s touchscreen.
• Push the “Yes” button on the MyLink screen when prompted.
• That’s it! Using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, you can now access all of your favorite apps on your vehicle’s touchscreen.

Chevy Infotainment 3: Model Years 2019 – Present

Are you reading this and wondering why your 2019 or newer Chevy vehicle doesn’t have MyLink? That’s because in 2019, Chevy MyLink became the Chevy Infotainment 3 System. It’s the same system as MyLink, just with a new name. Thus, software updates for Chevy Infotainment 3 are the same as a Chevrolet MyLink update, in that they will install automatically and you won’t have to worry about them.
