The most convenient way to charge your Chevy Bolt is with the 120-volt portable charging cord that’s included with your Chevy Bolt. It allows you to charge your car from your Minnetonka home with a three-prong outlet. While you’ll only get four miles of charge per hour, it’s easy to plug in overnight. A 12-hour charging session will give you approximately 48 miles of driving range. Since it’s recommended that you charge your vehicle daily, this is an easy way to do it.
You can have a Hopkins electrician equip your garage with a 240-volt outlet charging system, which will give you a 25-mile driving range per one hour of charging time. Some public charging stations offer this same rate. This is the recommended home charging option, which drops your fully-charged time down to a convenient nine and a half hours. An overnight charge will definitely give you enough power for the long Minnesota road ahead.
It’s getting easier every day to find public charging stations that work faster than any home option. You can get up to 100 miles of range in a mere 30 minutes from a DC Fast Charging station. They cost more, but they’re great for when you’re on the road and need an energy boost in a short amount of time.
